Upon discovering how the VC are getting their arms and ammunition into the Mekong Delta, Jason sets out to stop it. He is ordered by NAVFORV Intelligence to forget about it and do his job as advisor and go home alive. <p>This does not sit well with Jason and he enlists the help of some SEALS in the Delta to blow up the Merchant ships as they are off-loading supplies at a VC camp just across the border in Cambodia. </p><p>During this period his girlfriend, a nurse in Saigon, is killed and Jason is devastated. He leaves Vietnam feeling a sense of accomplishment, but disillusioned and imbittered by circumstances he can do nothing about, and a war that cannot be won.</p>
