The Qajaq Book is one of the few writings describing in detail how to build a skin-on-frame kayak. It encompasses a thousands of years old trade, translated into modern terms and images. The book was written for the passionate boat builders, supplementing what was already written on this subject. However, by comparison to other books, The Qajaq Book treats kayak building as a whole without emphasizing a certain boat from a certain period. Most of its content reflects years of traditional knowledge, but there are also a few novelties, which sprang out of the author's own boat building experience.The content is tuned for the possibilities of the European builders, but this doesn't mean the book cannot be read by others.
